If they want their project to go mainstream, they can’t be in such a hurry to bolt on every bell and whistle they can think of, then call it done, and move on in 1-5 years. It takes time for something like a browser to filter out to average users, and users need a compelling reason to switch. This reason generally has to be dissatisfaction with their current browser, not fancy new features of another browser.
The best opening will be if Chrome becomes an ad riddled mess as all the ad blockers stop working.
