I'm continuing to improve my RunsOn tool for launching self-hosted runners for GitHub Action on AWS, this time with support for any GPU-enabled instance type from EC2, and using the official Deep Learning AMIs as the runner image. Much cheaper than the official GitHub Actions runners, and accessible on any GitHub plan.
Amazing piece of (high quality) software! If you're spending more than 100$/month on github actions or just want faster builds in general, you should give this a try. I was amazed how easy it was to setup (just need an AWS account and 30 minutes). Founder is also very responsive to feature requests and suggestions.
We're in the process of replacing our k8s based ARC Runner with runs-on.com, hoping to reduce maintenance burden and CI cost by thousands of $ month.
Seconding this. We were spending $$$$ with one of Ubicloud/WarpBuild/BuildJet. The switch was painless, builds are now faster, and we're able to use AWS credits which were otherwise going to expire.
I've been using runs-on on production for last one month and it simply blows github hosted runners out of the water compared to performance and cost savings.
Great job by the Runs on team.
