Utilities use dark money to stop climate progress (climatebase.org)

This article (https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/meet-the-money-beh...) from a decade ago already set that the money put into this, back then, was in the order of billions per year, between 2003 and 2010. It should had continued till this day, probably with more funding. And were not just utilities playing that game.


In addition to lobbying, utilities will often purchase or create "local news" websites and have them publish seemingly independent articles criticizing whatever the utility doesn't like. They work very hard to hide their ownership and editorial control. It should be illegal if it isn't already.

These utilities must solely employ people who have no children, a short time left to live, breathe different air than the rest of us, and live in the 1% of the planet not impacted negatively by climate change (yet!).

Otherwise, why would anyone be willing to work diligently against climate progress?

I honestly don’t understand. If you work for a bad company, quit!
