This is already the case I think. Less and less people want to read books. We are coming to a point where nobody can even watch a long video explanation of a concept. This is the TikTok age and short addictive content dominates. And the coming changes (LLMs) don't seem like will incentivize consuming long form content.
You wonder with ChatGPT, a lot has been said that it would be the demise of writing, and language. But perhaps would be for reading sadly as well. Why read a complex text when one can get a summary of everything in bullet points...or something like that.
