It's a little disingenuous to say "your phone can tell" - it's some big government information service that is telling.

Can one opt out of being tracked on this stuff?


Iphone users should search for “Exposure Notifications” to enable the system on their phones while Android users can download the app.

Turn off Wifi, Bluetooth, and NFC for good measure, generally speaking. Only turn on when using.

It's just the Apple-Google BLE token scheme.
